Foxfield’s fall races are next Sunday, September 24th! Drawing in crowds from all over the Charlottesville and Albemarle County area, this highly anticipated event, known as Family Day, is a must-visit for anyone who loves thrilling spectator sports and all kinds of community activities.

Steeplechase racing has been a cherished tradition in the Charlottesville area for more than two centuries, so it’s no surprise that residents and visitors alike want to take part in the local activities.

Catch the performance by Charlottesville High School Orchestra’s string ensemble at 11 AM and stay to watch the Jack Russell Terrier races at noon.

What to Do

There’s plenty of fun for all ages during Foxfield’s fall races! From face-painting to lawn games, kids have access to all kinds of activities throughout the day. Just a few of the many fun activities on the event schedule include:

  • Children’s Tent
  • Tween Tent (featuring karaoke for ages 10 to 12)
  • pony rides
  • stick pony races (kids can bring their own from home or make one at the Children’s Tent)
